Unto the Lamb

We're singing this song on Easter Sunday. At first I didn't really like the song probably because it's got a bunch of different parts and I hate to work on parts. However, the more I hear it, the more I like it. But I don't think we'll sound this good because we don't have this many people and everyone misses Laura and her high soprano voice!

Luke was the only one of the Lindsays who wanted to pet the snake
Here are some of the animals that they have on display at the Nature Center

Some of the boys looking for snakes

These 2 snakes were up on one of the boardwalks
because the water was so high from all the rainfall that we've had.

I thought this stump looked like a heart, but Tracy said it looked like a ram's horn

Amy & Tracy will post more pictures of our fieldtrip soon.

Cyrus cylinder

We have been studying about the Israelites captivity in Babylon. Today, we read from Ezra 1 about how King Cyrus of Persia released them and allowed them to go back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple.

"Archaeologists found a large clay cylinder shaped like a log and is called the Cyrus cylinder. There is writingon the cylinder that tells how Cyrus captured the great city of Babylon and how he let all the captive people move back to their homes."

One of our activities was to make our own Cyrus cylinder

Miriam's ears

For her birthday, Miriam got this gift card to Claire's
from Aunt Laura & Uncle Eric to get her ears pierced
So today, we took her to get her ears pierced while Luke & Cameron were at a birthday party.

Sitting in the chair waiting

Her hair pulled back

Making the marks on her ears

Waiting for them to load the guns
We told them to do them at the same time
Done...she didn't even cry.
We ended up getting the 3mm pink ones (October birthstone)
We got this bag when we left with the stuff to clean them with.
Hope all of the cleaning and turning goes well without any whining and crying...
yeah right!
FYI...we already lost one of the backs so I had to use one of mine...I hope that it stays on.

Working on the roof

Today Craig and my dad (PawPaw) finally fixed the barn roof that was damaged during the hurricane.

Craig coming down the ladder
carrying shingles up the ladder

PawPaw

taking the shingles to the top
Craig calls me the mamarazzi instead of the paparazzi...
he says I'll take a picture of anything...LOL!

Jambalaya

Last night we had jambalaya at PawPaw & ZeeZee's per Aunt Laura & Uncle Eric's request
We cook our jambalaya outside over an open fire.
PawPaw lighting the fire

Smoke
Catching fire

Now it's going
Time to put on the dutch oven

Put the sausage in...we like alot of sausage, can't you tell :)
Uncle Eric was our cook
Luke helping put some more branches on the fire
Push it in
Taking the sausage out
We found a piece of chicken that ZeeZee forgot to cut
Cooking the chicken, pork and green onions
Stop! Picture time
Aunt Sara got braces this week...She looks like she's in high school now!
Especially in this picture...her hair almost looks blonde like it was in high school :)
Maybe she wanted to look younger since Adam is so young :)

Miriam drinking red Fanta...a treat at PawPaw & ZeeZee's
of course, she has all of her jewelry on
Back to cooking - Uncle Eric stirring the chicken, pork, and onions

Another photo op - Kids swinging
Levi swinging

Still cooking
Adding the sausage back in
Stir it up!
Add the water and bring it to a boil
Boiling - add the rice
Bring it back to a boil, put the lid on, and pull the fire out

Let's eat!
The only thing that's missing is Smell-o-vision has Rachel Ray calls it.
However, my camera strap still smells like it...LOL!
