Sunday with Grace

While we were in Houston, we didn’t get to see Grace until Sunday because she was out of town visiting her grandparents.  We met them at church on Sunday morning, ate lunch at a great Mexican restaurant and then went to their house for a little while before we headed back home.  Before we left, we had to get a group shot.

Health Museum & swimming

The Saturday afternoon we were in Houston, we went to the Health Museum.

Luke & Cameron played this mindball game where the person had to control their excitement level to move the ball into their opponents goal. It definitely fit their personalities because Luke's was more even and Cameron had spikes on his chart.

This resulted in Luke being the winner. They also did the jump challenge to see how high they could jump.

Cole got a little boost from Daddy.

They had lots of activities to learn about the human body and challenge the mind.

While they watched a 4-D movie about cells, I hung out with Cole & Melody in the lobby.

After about 2 hours, it was time to head to Uncle Lee's house to go swimming.

Uncle Lee put Grace's water table in the shallow end and they had fun playing with it and the water hose.

You know it was time to get out when Cole's diaper exploded. (I forgot to pack the swim diapers.)

Astros vs Diamondbacks game

After the rice mill & Tabasco fieldtrip, we drove to Houston for the weekend.  The main reason for going to Houston was to see the Diamondbacks play the Astros.  Luke & Cameron played for the Diamondbacks during baseball season. On Friday night, we decided that we would all go since the tickets were so cheap and they have fireworks.

Daddy & Luke went to the game early hoping to get autographs, but weren't able to get any. However, they did get the free Astros hats that were being given away to the first 10,000 visitors. The rest of us came a little later with Uncle Lee.

After watching a little bit of the game, we ended up going to the restaurant that they have inside the stadium to eat supper. It was started by former players Bagwell and Biggio.

After dinner, the kids played in the playground area while I went shopping in the gift store. They were having a great sale...40% off and buy one, get one free...plus it was a tax free weekend. Basically, I got every kid a shirt for $6.

By this time, it was late in the game and we were finally able to find some seats down close by the field to get a good view of the fireworks.

After the game was over, they slowly opened the roof.

When the roof was open, then it was time for the fireworks. It was really a great show, Craig said that it was worth the price of admission just for that.
