End of the Season Football Parties
Luke had his party last Thursday at a local park where they enjoyed playing on the playground, throwing the football, and eating pizza and cookie cake. Each player got a medal and a goodie bag.

Weekend in Clinton
This weekend Miriam, Cole & I went to visit Aunt Laura, Uncle Eric & baby Elliott. We just hung out on Saturday, took newborn pictures of Elliott (these to come on my Eye Candi site), and went to the Fall Festival at their church.
Doesn't look like they're too happy to be in costume! Miriam got to dress like a princess and wear make-up. Plus Cole got to try his first cotton candy!

Portable Soup
This week we've been reading about the Lewis and Clark expedition. One of the things they brought with them was portable soup. It was made from a thick broth that was dried into a cube similar to a bouillon cube. Then they would add whatever root vegetables they might find along their journey. Since it was a little cooler today, we made this for lunch using beef bouillon cubes, frozen vegetables and water. Then I made grilled cheese sandwiches to go along with it.

Meadowview Stables Fall Party
Yesterday, Mrs. Sam invited us to a fall party that she was having at the stables. Remember this is the place where we had a fieldtrip recently. The younger kids were napping and Luke & Cameron were too busy watching football so just Miriam & I went. First, she got a tattoo for her face and then they made a scarecrow craft. Then she got to ride a horse and enjoy some snacks. She really enjoyed petting the horse that was dressed up. She wanted to pet the one with the tiara but it was a baby and not as tame.
