Easter day
Also attempted to take a family shot since Craig was at work when I took the Easter portraits. We can't seem to get everyone to look at the same time. Plus I'm not liking how fat my face looks in these.
Also snapped some of Daddy & PawPaw with the kids. When PawPaw went home after church, he changed into clothes to match us. LOL!
Easter Eggs
On Sunday, all of the Lindsay and Shelby kids, hunted the ones that PawPaw, Aunt Sara & Ian hid. It went so quickly with so many hunting, that I didn't actually get any shots of them hunting them.

Baseball Week 2
K-9/SRT Fieldtrip
Last Thursday, we went on an amazing fieldtrip to the K-9 Training and Special Response Team Facility. First, we went inside the facility to hear about car seat safety and stranger danger.
Afterwards, we walked across the seat to see some of the SWAT vehicles.
Finally, we got to see different demonstrations by the K-9 dogs.
A few shots of the kids from the day.

School Crafts from Civil War Days
We haven't done as many crafts/activities this year related to our Tapestry reading. The book Civil War Day had the following recipes/crafts that I finally decided to do. Shortning bread originated from Scottish immigrants as shortbread. Over the years, the Southern name changed the name to shortning bread or shortin' bread. I made it into a star shape because that is a traditional Scottish symbol for good luck.
It was really good, but I wished I had some strawberries so I could have had strawberry shortcake. Even Cole had some...reminds me of the song "Shortnin' Bread"...this cute little cartoon has it at the end.
We also made hardtack, a hard biscuit that was a common food for soldiers. It was pretty tasteless and hard so we ate it with honey. Levi said it was too hard to eat. It was funny because they kept complaining that they didn't like it, but continued to eat it.
We read about a paper craft called scherenschnitte which means scissor cuts. I found this site that had some easy templates for kids...although mine kept complaining. She also had some Star Wars templates that I cut out.

Post Office Fieldtrip
Afterwards, we went to City Park again and played. The Shelbys joined our group to picnic and play. Here's a group shot of the Lindsay & Shelby kids.
