Upward Basketball Game #1

Saturday Luke had his first Upward basketball game. He plays for the Rattlers.

He did really well.  There were no meltdowns like football.  Even though his team didn’t do very well he seemed to be having a good time and was always smiling as he ran up and down the court.

especially at half-time when people came out and threw spirit sticks full of candy!

The pictures aren't that great because I already have a hard time taking inside shots...then add a gym with bad lighting and movement...doesn't add up to good shots for me...plus I usually have a kid trying to cling to me!

Grace’s Baptism

The reason we were in Houston was to attend baby Grace’s baptism service.  Craig is one of the godparents.  Here are some of the pictures from after the service.

Saturday in Houston

On Saturday, we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

We got to see dinosaur bones and some dinosaur displays.

 
In the chemistry section, there was a wall of the periodic table of elements.  Within each square was an example of that element. 
Of course, there was nothing in the radioactive ones!

This pendulum was one of the neatest attractions.
 
It hung from a 60 foot cable from the top of the ceiling.
 
It only knocked down one pin while we were watching.

There were also some taxidermy displays.

This little guy was cute.  I said he was a cajun racoon…but the more I think about it…he would just be called a “coonass”….pardon my french!

They also had a section dedicated to malacology…which is the study of mollusks.

This is the world’s largest snail shell.

After we left the museum, we walked toward the reflecting pond at Hermann Memorial Park.

When we got back to Uncle Lee & Aunt Lauren’s, baby Grace was all snuggled up in her car seat sleeping…so cute!
