In our science book,
Exploring Creation with Astrology, we learned that Venus is full of lava. To better understand lava, we did the following experiment.
- Butter = rock
- Saucepan/stove = heat
- Bowl = volcano
- Flour = land
We melted the butter to see how rock melts to make lava. We poured the butter on top of the bowl to represent how lava comes out of a volcano. The "lava" then ran down the sides and made tracks in the flour. After hours, the butter became hard again just as cooled lava turns back to rock.
